Whatever your individual and unique needs, Breastfeeding LENS helps meet them with confidence through consultancy, training and a peer support service that can help meet targets. The team members are all International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) with extensive expertise in training, of peer support provision, breastfeeding, consultancy and working with mothers one to one and in groups.
Consultations with full report of ways forward for breastfeeding in your community
- A consultation to highlight strengths and areas for development, identifying key actions and the support required to ensure that the needs of your staff and mothers in your target group can be met. Pre-visit discussion and preparation may take ½ day.
- Written report and recommendations

LENS consultants can work with you at any level to implement or improve peer support provision to suit your local demographics. Whether you need the full ‘Motherbaby Together’ peer support package or help to fine tune what you already have in place.
The LENS team can offer consultancy to NHS trusts, GP consortium, Local Authority, third sector and other organisations implementing peer support. From a basic breastfeeding update session for already trained peer supporters to a full consultancy service to analyse and report, with full recommendations for implementation, of breastfeeding projects.
Drawing on the background experience of an infant feeding coordinator, paediatric nursing, counselling, midwifery and teaching the LENS team offers flexible working arrangements to suit your needs. Working with mothers to help them overcome breastfeeding challenges underpins the training and consultations offered.
